Gerald E. Levy
Gerald is the President and Founder of the current version of the Zenda Group. Gerald has been in the real estate business in many capacities for more than 30 years.
He attended the Université de Montréal where he earned his Quebec law degree and the University of Arizona where he earned his Arizona law degree. He is currently a member of the State Bar of Arizona and the Barreau du Québec.
Having graduated in 1977 from the University of Arizona, Gerald got his start in the real estate industry practicing law in Tucson, Arizona where his specialty was real estate law. He moved back to Montreal, Quebec in 1985 and soon after joined Canderel Ltd., a major Montreal real estate development company, as Legal Counsel. After a short period of time, his position at the company expanded to Vice-President, responsible for the administration of Canderel’s Montreal operations.
In 1992, he ‘refounded’ the Zenda Group as a firm which would provide consulting expertise to various individuals and corporations, and other professionals in the field of real estate.
Since the mid-1990’s, Gerald has guided Zenda into becoming what it is today, an international real estate investment company. Gerald’s extensive experience and network of professionals in both the Canadian and United States real estate markets has allowed Zenda to seamlessly implement its investment strategy in multiple markets in both countries.
William is the Vice-President of Finance and Acquisitions for the Zenda Group. With over 17 years of real estate investment and finance experience, William is primarily responsible for sourcing the investment properties that Zenda acquires.
William attended McGill University where he graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce in 1999. He continued his education and earned a Masters of Business Administration specializing in Real Estate Finance and Investment at York University’s Schulich School of Business in 2003.
Since graduating from McGill in 1999, William has been involved in the real estate business. For much of the following 3 years, he worked with Gerald to create Lexington Realties, a partnership between Zenda and another Montreal based real estate firm. In 2002, he participated in Lexington’s first acquisition of the Merivale Fair property, located in Ottawa, Ontario.
In 2003, William graduated from Schulich with his MBA. After gaining valuable financing experience working for MCAP, one of Canada’s leading independent mortgage financing companies, he joined Zenda on a full time basis as the firm’s investment analyst.
In 2008, William became a full partner in the firm, and, from 2008 to the present, has led the drive to expand into the Canadian Maritime provinces and more recently, into the States of California, Texas and Ohio.
Over his 17 year career, William has analyzed real estate opportunities of every type. He has been intricately involved in all aspects of real estate investing and ownership, including acquisitions, development, property management and dispositions.
Michael is the Vice-President of Asset and Property Management for the Zenda Group, with a primary focus on the management and leasing of the portfolio of assets under the group’s ownership.
Following his studies at McGill University where he graduated in 2006, Michael immediately entered the real estate industry as a financial analyst in the Montreal office of Montrose Mortgage, a national, full service mortgage banking organization and brokerage firm. As an analyst, Michael was involved in many areas of real estate underwriting, including construction financing, residential, retail and office financing, property analysis, market sensitivity analysis, loan renewals, and negotiating with institutional clients and investors.
In the fall of 2007 Michael went on to work as the in-house leasing agent and property manager for a mid-size regional commercial/residential landlord. His responsibilities were varied including, but not limited to: marketing both the company as well as the portfolio of commercial, industrial and multi-residential assets, negotiating, structuring and drafting leases for all property types as well as the typical responsibilities of a senior commercial/residential property manager.
Michael joined the Zenda Group in 2009 and has spear-headed the Zenda Group’s asset and property management division across its Canadian and U.S. portfolios. Michael’s responsibilities are varied and include overseeing the performance of the individual assets and directing the operations of the management division such as supervising the day-to- day operations and on-site staff, coordinating the marketing and leasing teams for each asset, supervision and direction of tenant fit-up, capital improvements, construction and redevelopment projects, as well as overseeing effectively all areas of the portfolio’s management.
Angela graduated with a Bachelor of Commerce majoring in Accounting from Concordia University and is presently a member of the CPA Order of Quebec.
Angela began her career in Real Estate Accounting by working for Cliffton Management, a local real estate company in Montreal, where she performed various accounting functions, with a focus on property management. She then moved on to work as Controller for a Canadian property management firm with a portfolio of commercial properties located in Canada and the United States. In addition to overseeing all the financial matters and preparing the financial statements of the various entities, Angela was involved in the management of the properties, acting as a liaison between owners, leasing agents, property managers and tenants.
In 2014, Angela joined Zenda as Controller where she manages the accounting team and is actively involved in all the property management aspects of the company.
Maria has extensive experience in all aspects of real estate, with particular emphasis on lease administration, accounting and interaction with our limited partners, tenants and suppliers.
Maria worked at Laurentian Bank as the executive assistant to the Vice-President of Information Systems for 6 years. In 1993, Maria moved on to work for an international real estate developer with properties located both in Canada and the United States. Maria was involved in property management and investor relations in addition to performing many of the accounting functions.
In 1996, Maria joined Zenda in the role of administrator and quickly took on the role of manager. Maria has been actively involved in all property acquisitions, management and sales. Maria is responsible for the administration of the office and overseeing investor and lender relations. Not only is she the right hand of the President, but she plays a central role in coordinating all aspects of office operations.
Stephanie has over 10 years of work experience in the real estate field. She worked for a Montreal-based company that developed and owned real estate throughout Canada. Her main focus was the financial and property management accounting of office, retail and industrial properties throughout the markets of Quebec and Ontario.
Stephanie joined Zenda at the beginning of 2015, where she continues to develop her property management accounting skills.
Taline has office administration and accounting experience.
Taline worked for a major middle-Eastern kitchen and laundry equipment supplier for 8 years. Her primary responsibilities included correspondence with suppliers and clients as well as accounting.
In 2007, Taline joined Zenda, where she has continued to develop her accounting and investor relations skills. She is responsible for maintaining all corporate records and ensures all regulatory filings are attended to. Taline has most recently taken over the administration of the bookkeeping of our U.S. entities and assists our controller with the quarterly and yearly tax file preparation.
